RED Dragon IR rig filming summer storms and rain (again!) – Mt Taylor foothills.
More late summer rain and build-up on the ranges to film and photograph this week as warmer conditions lead to several small storm cells circling Canberra. Not the intensity or scale of the January storms but some beautiful cloudscapes to enjoy nevertheless – particularly if the hail wasn’t destroying your greenhouse!
Rain spreading south of Tharwa as billows start to form over the ranges – south from Mt Taylor.
Rain and hail pushing into Queanbeyan to the east (from Mt Taylor foothills).
Storms building to the north (behind Mt Taylor).
The edge of the northern storm cell – dumping rain behind Black Mountain (from Scrivener Hill).
Summer storms, lightning, rain on the ranges … here’s one we prepared slightly earlier (last year – from brindabellas | edge of light) if anyone’s interested in a little more IR motion – plus you can see the whole episode (30 minutes) with this free download.
